Pansy Studios is a marketing & creative studio built on strategic thinking, unapologetic creativity and nuturing community.
We believe in doing things differently: challenging extractive agency models, making space for marginalised creatives, and proving that inclusive work is also impactful work.
Whether you’re launching a brand, rethinking your digital strategy, or looking for a brilliant freelancer to bring your vision to life - we’re here to help you do it with intention.
We also connect values-led brands with queer creatives through our LGBTQ+ Freelancer Directory, offering strategic digital services, brand consultancy, and creative production that puts representation and inclusion at the core.
Our Founder
Ellen Jones is a renowned author, speaker and founder of Pansy Studios.
Known for her sharp strategic thinking and fiercely analytical, data-led approach, Ellen has quietly shaped the positioning and campaigns of some of the world’s most recognisable brands.
With a decade of experience behind the scenes, she helps businesses cut through performative noise and build meaningful, inclusive strategies rooted in evidence - not guesswork. Whether developing global marketing playbooks, leading aligned brand transformations, or repositioning organisations for growth, Ellen’s work blends commercial intelligence with cultural fluency.
Ellen’s achievements are as impressive as they are impactful. She has been recognised as one of London’s most influential people by the Evening Standard, included in Attitude Magazine’s 101 LGBTQ Trailblazers. In 2024, Ellen was selected for WACL’s Represent Me campaign, where she collaborated with Snap, YouTube, and Pinterest to elevate conversations about representation.
Why the Pansy?
The pansy has a long and layered history. Once used as a slur, the word has since been reclaimed by parts of the LGBTQ+ community. It also has roots in the Pansy Craze of the 1930s - a movement celebrating queer performance and gender nonconformity, which was later cracked down on by authoritarian forces.
Beyond its LGBTQ+ significance, giving a pansy was once a symbol of thoughtfulness and careful consideration - two things that are often missing in today’s marketing world, where businesses chase trends rather than build strategy.
At Pansy Studios, we bring that thoughtfulness back. Every campaign, every piece of content, every strategy is designed with care, precision, and intent - ensuring that your brand doesn’t just speak, but resonates.
We also don’t believe high-quality work and expert advice should only be accessible to businesses with massive budgets. Small and medium businesses, as well as freelancers and charities, are the backbone of the economy and social progress, and we’re committed to making impactful marketing strategies accessible to them too.
In today’s landscape, where many brands are quietly pulling back from LGBTQ+ inclusion, Pansy Studios stands firm. We believe in the power of unapologetic, diverse storytelling - helping brands not just ‘show support’ but build genuine, meaningful connections with their audiences.
